After lunch, it's a short drive to the Daintree Discovery Centre - a living museum of natural rainforest. Here, you can view primitive plants and take in the oldest, continually surviving rainforest - literally at your fingertips! Stroll along the aerial walkways amongst the rainforest canopy, and even climb to the dizzying heights of a 20 metre-high canopy tower! Look carefully to spot birds and butterflies above, and below - our largest flightless bird, the Southern Cassowary or the diminutive musky rat-kangaroo. Get a close-up view of some of the amazing reptiles and marine species of the Daintree Rainforest, or learn about Indigenous bush foods - the choice is up to you! An interactive, interpretative centre where you can touch a screen or pick up an audio aid, assists in your learning about the flora and fauna of this amazing environment!
